Mortgage lender turmoil:
The media has been full of stories referring to the SubPrime mortgage market. Investors have lost confidence in the pools of mortgages that support SubPrime, Alt-A and Jumbo mortgages. This has made it harder for buyers to get a mortgage for purchase or refinance. The market really came apart in early August 2007 and has not recovered yet. Congress has passed legislation to try to help with an enhanced FHA product.
